What is the NDIS? (Easy to read version in separate post)

The NDIS is the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The NDIS will provide funds to Australians with disabilities to get the supports and services they need to get as close as possible to a "regular" life. The supports and services funded might include support workers, specialised transportation, equipment (like wheelchairs), home and vehicle modifications, disability related therapy and a range of other stuff that the NDIS decides, with the guidance of legislation, is "reasonable and necessary".
