International Human Rights Day.

Dec 2025

International Human Rights Day.

(trigger warning) 📜 Recently, December 12th marked 77 years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was written.

🌟 It is about making sure all people have the same rights, no matter who they are, or how they live.

🫴 The theme this year is “Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials.”

🤝 This reminds us that human rights are part of our daily lives and they are essential to our everyday experiences.

🕯️ This year is also the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the Holocaust.

⚰ During this time, the Nazis started by murdering many disabled people.

💭 It is important to remember history, honour those who died, and stand up against hate and discrimination.

💬 It reminds us to learn from the past and to always advocate for people’s rights.

🤝 Human rights are about feeling safe, making choices, having access, and being part of the community.

😊 The UDHR helps us remember this, and to treat everyone fairly and kindly.
