🙍 Becoming a Teen, then Adult!

🎂 What happens when your child with disability turns 13, 14, 15, 16, 18 and 21 – and why does so much of it happen without anyone telling YOU? Did you know the Disability Support Pension can start at 16, even while they are still at school full-time, and your income and assets don’t affect it? Did you know about what Medicare does when your child turns 14, or the bank when they turn 13?
 
🗺️ You’ll go through, age by age, what changes and what you need to do – the money families miss, the accounts and cards that get much harder to sort after a certain birthday, and the day your rights as a parent vanish!

❓ When does the DSP actually start, what is it worth, and why does waiting cost real money? What changes at 14, at 16, and on the 18th birthday – with the NDIS, Centrelink, Medicare and the law? And who can help make decisions once your child is legally an adult?  ✅ AND… what do YOU need to do, and when, so nothing falls through the cracks!

💵 How Much Does It Cost?

💲 The Kit costs $168.90.

📤 You can send the invoice to your plan manager to pay if you are plan managed.
✅ You can often claim this cost on your NDIS plan - if it is in line with your NDIS plan.

🚫 Once you have paid, we do not offer any cancellations as you will already have the kit, but we can send you a link to the recording or reschedule you to the next session.

🎥 What Will You Get?

📄 You will get the resource kit with a copy of the slides and a checklist and/or resources/workbook of important information.
🎞️ You will get a video link a few days after the session so you can watch it again, or in case you missed the live session. It will be available to watch for two months.
🗣️ You will also get a link to the auto-transcription for the session.

🎙️ Sam Paior will lead the session.

👩‍💼 Sam Paior founded and directs The Growing Space. 🧑‍⚕️ Loves helping people with disability and their families navigate the NDIS. 📚 She has learned a lot about accessibility, design, and disability and the NDIS. 🎓 Studied architecture, accessibility, journalism, and disability. 💼 Sam is not a lawyer but knows a lot about how the NDIS works. 🤝 Advises government and helps improve disability on the NDIS IAC (Independent Advisory Council) (this kit is NOT part of her IAC work). ✍️ Writes and speaks about the NDIS in plain language. 👪 Learned the most from her two sons and many friends and advocates with disability. 🌍 Believes in making the world more accessible for everyone.
